Jeff Renwick P.Eng. is the principal of bamtec engineering ltd.. Jeff is a senior building envelope engineer who has been designing, constructing, inspecting and developing practical solutions for buildings for more than 35 years. Jeff has been a member of EGBC since 1996.
After graduating Carleton University with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) in 1982, Jeff started his construction career as a field engineer on large commercial construction projects such as Scotiabank Headquarters; The National Aviation Museum; Holland Cross Development and Bayshore Shopping Mall expansion in Ottawa, Ontario.
Jeff successfully completed numerous schools, hospitals, wastewater treatment plants and bridges as coordinator and project manager with large national contractors such as Eastern Construction and Vanbots Construction. Also, Jeff contributed construction engineering expertise within Nodeco, a multinational design consortium developing construction feasibility and cost reduction strategies for the Hibernia Gravity Base off-shore drilling platform.
After returning to Vancouver Jeff focused his professional development on building science. Employed as senior building science engineer with a multi-disciplinary engineering firm, Jeff directed and supervised a team of professional engineers and technologists. Jeff managed development of repair solutions for exterior building envelope remediations.
Jeff also acted as Building Envelope Professional, Engineer of Record and Registered Design Professional for a large portfolio of new construction projects while Partner and principal of an established Building Science Engineering firm in the Vancouver area.
Jeff has provided professional exterior building envelope engineering consulting services on a wide variety of construction projects and authored technical articles in APEGBC Innovation and BCBEC Elements publications. Jeff has successfully completed numerous building envelope condition assessments; depreciation reports; HPO New Home warranty reviews; ASHRAE 90.1 building envelope prescriptive documentation and LEED Building Durability credit certification.
Jeff has acted as Building Envelope Professional on hundreds of new residential and commercial construction projects, and continues to provide clients with technically advanced and cost effective solutions on a daily basis.
Jeff is unique as he is a senior building science engineer with a diverse background including exterior building envelope technical expertise and considerable construction experience in the field.
